I live in a rural area with miles of forest around me and have had a constant problem with deer destroying my garden.I have used many different things with each only working for a short period.Rather than sprinkling the powder on the ground I used several old panty hose from my girlfriend and cut them into small sacks. I felt that the powder scent would drift farther if it was off the ground I hung them from trees around my garden widening the area every ten days or so.It has been five weeks since the first application and last sighted a deer near my garden.
There have been coy dogs(part coyote and part house dog) in my area in the past and I dont know if that helps the powder work better due to the deer being familar with the scent.I just ordered some more.

I refuse to let the deer keep me from having my gardens at home. However, I need methods for keeping the deer from devouring almost everything, and I also only use natural products. Shake Away is one of the best products I found because I don't have to mix anything and each application works for about a month during the growing season.

For some time now my garden has been home to all manner creatures. I dared not set foot on my lawn as the rabid squirrel that had set up home in the my bonsai oak tree would charge me slobbering and shrieking. The vicious owl in my coniferous pine would swoop down and try and take my toupee thinking, as I'm informed by the pest controller, that it is a field mouse.
Don't get me started on the swarm of moles that litter the lawn with their mounds of hate. I shot several of the badgers that live in my compost heap but even they bred too quickly for me to keep on top of things.
My cat, poor Cranberry, she tried her best but ferrets tore her to shreds. I swear they left her whiskers on the door step to intimidate me.
Anyway when I saw the Shake Away Coyote Urine Powder Animal Repeller on Amazon, I literally jumped for joy. At last something that might help me quell the insurgence of wild creatures on my land. I quickly ordered it, adding a warning for the delivery man to watch out for the band of irritable foxes that wait for me to leave my front door each day and chase me down the street.
The very next day ! there it was on my door step. I wiped the traces of blood from the slightly tattered box and tore it open. I quickly ran round to the back of the house and showered peter(the name I gave the squirrel) as he ran toward me. He stopped charging and looked confused for a second. Then he turned and vaulted the fence in his hurry to escape. All the other creatures left in a similar fashion.
Now all I get is the occasional sneer from a fox passing on the other side of the street.

Could not believe raccoons {and opossoms} in Brooklyn! I did not mind them up in the trees but I feared for little dog. Should a raccoon come into the yard she would have been after it...a fight she'd likely lose. The Shake Away seems to have run them away...no sightings in weeks!
4 stars because I believed it was safe around pets and children, container stated otherwise, use gloves to spread it.
